Online resources are great but nothing beats getting out there and experiencing what you are learning about. Below are some physical and virtual activity resources for you to use.

Memorial Park Conservancy - Contribute to their project on iNaturalist the next time you’re at the park.

Childrens’ Museum of Houston - a variety of activities available, including EcoStation

McGovern Centennial Garden - after a day at the zoo or Hermann Park, climb the only hill in Houston!

Port of Houston Boat Trip - get an up-close, novel look at the industry in the Port. This guided tour is free! Contact 713-670-2631.

Finca Tres Robles - an urban farm in the middle of EaDo (East of Downtown Houston). Contact information. Kids can eat lunch under the big oaks trees, then they can dig around in the dirt, learn how to make compost, pull up sweet potatoes, and more.

Take a splash in Buffalo Bayou on the Texas Paddling Trail. This 26-mile paddling trail is the first paddling trail in Houston. Enjoy paddling through downtown Houston in your canoe or kayak. Visit the TPWD website for rental information, maps, fishing, rules, and more information.
